When Adam was in his late teens, he was the opposite of almost any definition of success.
He dropped out of high school, dabbled in martial arts and didn’t do all too much.
But then in his mid 20s, he started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, decided to find the Harvard of BJJ schools and moved to Brazil.
He lived there for a while, became the first and still only Australian black belt under Fabio Gurgel and at the time was the only non South American to teach at the Alliance HQ in Brazil.
He competed in the Pans & Brazilian nationals which are ridiculously high standards of the sport.
He then opened his Alliance gym in Sydney in 2018. Two years later, covid brought his biggest challenge in life so far but the community continued to support the gym by paying their memberships despite social distancing rules. The gym is now stronger than ever.
Adam’s a proud dad, husband & a leader of an amazing community.
This conversation is about being clear on what you don’t want so that you can immerse yourself in pursuit of what brings you joy, happiness & fulfilment.
It’s about how to hold yourself, your peers & and your students to higher standards.
And, more importantly, it’s about recognising the price you’re willing to pay for the success you want to achieve.
Enjoy!
